Our World

Politics -apart of the world, i don't pay as much of attention to them as i should. I respect President Obama for running for president that was really a brave thing to do. Politicians are not always honest there may be a few but not enough to help in the world.
Abortion- The way i feel about that situation is as much as people may discuss that law you can never make that type of decision for a women. Women have the right to decide if they want to abort their child you can't continue to argue about such a thing when your not in that type of situation.
Religion-This is something that should be in every one's life but unfortunately is a personal decision. I grew up around different religions and it's my own decision which one to continue with.
Teen Pregnancy-Is something that is taking place a lot in the world. Why? I really don't know if it's the new trend or what the deal is but it's not cute at all. The teen pregnancy rate in the world goes up every year and is rapidly continuing. Hopefully somebody will learn and end this cycle.
Race in America- Is something that cannot be controlled but is going on in the world today. As much as people try to better the world you can't change the way a person feels about another race, size, or any difference between you and another person

My Most Interesting Thaksgiving Break Experience

Thinking back on all of my thanksgiving breaks i can't really recall a different one from all the others. I can say that each break gives me a chance to relax and realize that I've made it to another holiday with my family. I had to work this thanksgiving unfortunately but i still had a chance to enjoy my family and my time away from school. Now it's time to head back to school and finish off the year until Christmas break and new year's 2010.

The Ron Clark Story

In my evening class we watched a movie by the name of "The Ron Clark Story". Its a semi true story based upon a teacher and the struggle he has with his sixth grade class. The class live in a rough neighborhood in New York City, they really didn't know what they were capable of until Mr. Clark. He brought there true potential to their attention and made them very successful students. He showed them that they could do anything no matter where they came from and he also helped them with their personal lives at home. Ron Clark is a very educating and successful teacher and has now opened a Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Ga in 2006.

Field Trip

The field trip we attended on November 5, 2009 was very educational and fun. I learned a lot about ASU and it would be great to be able to get into ASU. The people and the school seem to be welcoming. I also enjoy the conversation and give aways. I hope that the next time I hear about ASU i will be a full-time student.

What is a Leader?

I am a leader, why I choose to place myself as a leader? Because I am a person who is always willing to try new things not what everyone else does. Not just that I choose to be a leader in my own way to make and set good examples for others to follow. Not saying I didn't have to learn things like everyone else, but it not what you learn it's how you use it. That's my key to being a leader.

SAVE SAVE SAVE!!!

Last week my class was visited by a guest speaker from the CB&T bank by the name of Mr. Kwame Smith. He came to the class to teach us how to save and also budget our money. It was important for him to come because he really did help make some differences in my way of budgeting. I have a good savings plan already it's hard but I manage, as far as budgeting the money goes it very difficult. It's hard to budget your money to get the things you want but if you put effort into it you can do it.

RESPECT

In today's world their is something that we lack a lot of from our communities as well as country. Respect this word is not being applied enough to people. Growing up you learn how to walk, talk, and a lot of other things that help you along in life but today not to many young people are being taught the real meaning of respect. Being taught to respect can get you far in life not just being smart or wealthy can get you places. The purpose of this is to reach out to our human race and say teach your kids to respect you and everyone else. Let them know that in life they should give people the same respect that they may give them.

Inappropriate Behavior

This world is full of mature and also immature people. Some of the people may be ones who are looked up to by many. If your wondering where I may be going with this I'm referring to the situation with celebrity rapper Kanye West and Grammy winning singer Taylor Swift. I feel that if West had any comments to make that he should have been more professional and waited to state his comment. Young Taylor handled the issue very well and showed her maturity and respect for herself as well as her fans.

MY EDUCATION, MY FUTURE

The speech givin by President Barack Obama on our education was very motivational. I believe that if we do try harder and study more we will succeed in life. The stories he told were very realistic and those people still made it threw hard times. The things most of us today go threw are mostly minor and can be set aside or forgotten to do what we need to do to be better citizens. I personally am trying harder in school then ever this school year and will continue to be a good U.S. citizen now and in the future.

Cell Phone Policy

How do you feel about the new cell phone policy? Is it a good thing or just rediculous? For most young people it rediculous. There was a survey given on the policy and most students voted for it. I think that the policy isn't really necessary the consequences against getting cought are more strict then the previous ones. Normally you wou;d get sent home, ISSP, or maybe a day at home but now you receive way more. Such as, your 1st offense the cell phone will be turned in and held for (3) school days, phone may be picked up by parent 30 minutes after school. the 2nd offense is (5) days and then (10) and so on and so forthe. Although the phone shouldn't be used during school hours the policy is way to much. In the end it really isn't making a difference because the student and or parent has the decision for the child to receive (2) days at home. The majority of the students will take those days under the circumstances of getting their phone held. So as the policy continues more disipline will proceed because of the decisions made by the student body of having the policy valid.
